Building A Platform For Talent to Flourish:
To get to this purpose, which is the cornerstone of our foundation for growth, we started by getting our entire team to write what they thought the vision was for the company.
Once we had done this vision finding mission we took it a step further and hired an external agency, Nice Work, to refine and build our vision into a purpose that we could all align around; as well as values that were true to the culture we had already created in the business with our team and with our clients.
They interviewed various team members and clients to discover and refine our secret sauce that makes Pressure Cooker, Pressure Cooker and arm us with the words we could all use to describe what it is we are doing every day and align around a future we all buy into.
How does this align with our goals for the future:
When I first entered the industry, it felt pretty closed off and insular. Everyone seemed to be working on their own projects, not communicating with each other, and working in their own silos. It didn’t feel like there was a lot of collaboration or cooperation going on.
But at Pressure Cooker Studios, we’re working to change that. We believe that by working together, we can all achieve greater success. One way we’re doing this is by being selective about the projects we take on. We pair the best talent with the right project, and if we feel that we can elevate the project by collaborating with an external studio or composer, we do it. We put the product and the end result first, before our own bottom line. We believe that better work means a stronger platform for the entire industry.
We’re also committed to making sure that South Africa is on the same standard as the rest of the world. We want to create a better industry that attracts more people to work here. We want to be known as a place where talent can come to flourish.
Internally, we’re always looking for ways to grow and improve. We have an Internship Programme that is focused on bringing people in and training them up. Whether you’re just starting out in your career or you’re a seasoned pro, we believe in the power of learning. We’re a learning studio, and we all learn from each other.
