We’ve got two exciting pieces of news to share with you this month!
As you know, we’re a studio full of gamers. Not only does our creativehub of audio engineers and composers in Cape Town love creating soundscapes for Games, but they also spend a fair share of their free time immersed in playing games themselves. So when it comes to gaming news, we geek out hard.
1. JAMES AND BEN GO TO GAMESCOM
We’re sure you read the news about the recent release of the Original Soundtrack for Manor Lords. Pressure Cooker’s Lead Composer on the project, Elben (Ben) Schutte, had some time in the spotlight with the press (read some of his interviews here), and we received the news last week that his talk has been accepted at Devcom!
Ben will be taking the stage in August in Cologne, Germany to talk about the long process behind scoring this truly authentic medieval world, and what he learnt along the way.
(Established in 2017, devcom is the official game developer event of gamescom, the world’s largest computer and video games event, and Europe’s annual “must attend” developer’s conference.)
Ben will be accompanied by our CEO James Matthes who will be taking some meetings to talk about how a studio full of storytellers can offer a different approach to gaming soundtracks.
Stay tuned for more about their upcoming trip.
2. we're wwise certified
We’re also thrilled to announce that we have been added to the official Audiokinetic Creators Directory for our #Wwise certification, highlighting our expertise in advanced audio solutions for interactive media. Making us the first South African, studio to be listed on the directory as content providers.
Special congratulations to Max Natrass for achieving a flawless 100% on the exam.
This is just the beginning of an epic journey to elevate the gaming world.
