COMMERCIAL LEAD / EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Reports To: Managing Director & Head of Production
Location: Cape Town, CBD, Foreshore (Pressure Cooker Studios HQ)

We’re looking for someone to build and scale our Commercial Pillar.

Pressure Cooker Studios, a full-service music and audio post-production company, is seeking a commercially driven, relationship-first Commercial Lead / Executive Producer to take ownership of revenue growth, client partnerships, and the overall success of our commercial department.

This role sits at the intersection of creativity, client leadership, and business growth, working directly with the Managing Director and Head of Production to convert opportunity into sustained revenue across local and international markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Client & Revenue Ownership (Primary Focus)

  • Own and grow key agency, brand, and production company relationships
  • Through strategy development and execution, actively drive new business locally and internationally (not passively receive briefs)
  • Build a consistent pipeline of commercial opportunities
  • Identify upsell opportunities across existing and new clients
  • Partner with MD & Head of Production on strategic growth, including international expansion


2.  Commercial Production Leadership

  • Oversee all commercial projects from brief through to delivery
  • Ensure exceptional client experience at every touchpoint
  • Lead briefing processes with clarity and confidence, ensuring every project is grounded in strong creative and commercial strategy, with no gaps in thinking or execution
  • Identify and manage composers, VO artists, and external collaborators in partnership with the Head of Production and Creative Leads, ensuring a high-quality, strategically aligned talent pool for every project
  • Maintain high creative and operational standards across all output


3. Department Leadership & Systems

  • Identify and refine commercial workflows and systems in order to drive efficiency, margin awareness, and delivery standards
  • Work closely with Head of Production on scheduling and resource allocation to ensure delivery to Pressure Cooker Standards
  • Own departmental financial oversight (quoting, margins, forecasting), with a thorough working understanding of internal administrative processes to ensure seamless support and continuity when required
  • Mentor and guide team members, strengthening capabilities across client service, acquisition, and retention


4. Market Presence & Positioning

  • Be an active front facing B2B presence in the industry (agencies, events, networks) 
  • Position Pressure Cooker as a go-to music and audio partner
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and team members to showcase work through case studies, campaigns, and initiatives that drive local and global visibility

  • Consistent pipeline and required conversion of opportunities
  • Growth in repeat business from key clients
  • Growth in new business from key clients
  • Increased monthly revenue stability above baseline
  • Stronger and wider agency, brand and production company relationships, locally and internationally
  • Clear growth of a commercial department that runs proactively, not reactively

  • 8–12+ years in advertising, production, music/audio/post-production environment
  • Proven ability to:
    • Build and maintain high-value client relationships
    • Drive and significantly contribute to revenue growth
    • Demonstrate strong commercial instinct (budgets, margins, deal-making, strategic solutions, critical thinking)
  • Confident communicator capable of leading rooms, winning and maintaining trust with team and clients
  • Highly proactive, creates opportunities rather than waiting
