Create a cinematic yet grounded soundscape that feels authentically South African. Focus on rhythm and character-driven audio, using the characters’ personalities and development arcs to inform the sonic world. The goal was to hook viewers in the first 10 minutes while maintaining a strong creative vision throughout.
We joined early, deploying a second sound team on set to capture bespoke audio and location sounds based on the script. Collaborating with Emmy-winning sound designer Samir Foco, we crafted a Hollywood-worthy soundscape that balanced scale with nuance. We also worked closely with director Mandla Dube to ensure the audio remained true to his vision, using sound to underscore the heartbeat of the world and the evolution of its characters.
